2016 December Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

What a party!! Dinner was served by “Shorties”.  We had bacon wrapped fillet minion, baked chicken mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, salad and a whole host of appetizers and desserts supplied by club members.  Tonya even made some chocolate marsh mellow moose's and pink marsh mellow Santa clauses that I know would have taken a half day to make, and they sure were good!

After dinner we played Dirty Santa.  I think there were more steals this year than the last two years combined.  Our newest member, LeAnne Ames, spent more time at the gift table than anyone else.  Every time she would pick a gift someone would come steal it from her and she would just have to turn around and pick another one, then someone else would steal that one.  Welcome to the Club, LeAnne! Long story short, it was great fun!  Oh, and by the way, Tonya got the dreaded shoe this year.  Way to go Tonya!!

Shorties was running a little late with our dinner so Darrell decided to have a short meeting before the meal.

We missed all who were not there and if you missed it, you missed a good one.  It was a great party.  Thanks again to all who put forth the effort in making it happen.

On a personal note, may you all have a “Merry Christmas and a Happy new year”.  We look forward to seeing each and every one in the upcoming year.

Note: After the party, the club was petitioned by email to donate 2 bicycles to the Salvation Army. Several members volunteered to donate extra for the bicycles. The cost of the bicycles was $185, but the donations collected were around $170, so the club made up the difference. Here is a picture of Connie and Darrell Carver presenting the bicycles to the Salvation Army.

2016 November 16 Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

We met in November at Luigis Italian Restaurant, here in Bartlesville.  Funny, I forget about this place until we have meetings there.  The thing of it is, they really do have good food, good service and it is very reasonable.

Thirty five people showed up for the dinner and meeting.  We continue to have a really good response to our meetings.  Thank you to all those who participate.

Hope all is well and happy

2016 October Meeting Minutes

There was no October meeting as we were at Eureka Springs having fun!

2016 September Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

Well we had 18 people show up for the Picnic at Paul and Donna’s house and all I can say is, “If you weren’t there you missed a good one”!

Paul did all the cooking, serving up hamburgers and hot dogs and boy were they good.  “Thank you Paul”!   Of course everyone else brought side dishes and desserts and they were all to die for.  I don’t think we could go to a restaurant anywhere and get a better meal.  We should do this more often.

Paul spent a lot of time setting up horseshoe stakes and getting his yard ready for us to indulge in fun and games, and no one played anything!  Sorry Paul, we do appreciate the effort you went to though.  I guess that is what happens when you get a bunch of old folks together and feed them before they play.  “But the food was excellent!”

We didn’t really have a meeting. The only real business we had is the upcoming “Corvette Weekend” in Eureka Springs and we did talk about that a little.  The final discussion on that was there are three groups at this point going over.

The first group will leave Thursday morning at 10:00 a m.  It will leave from the east parking lot at Tri County Tech.  We will go across 60, 90 and 37 south to 62 that goes to Eureka Springs.  If you would like to go with this group please call or drop me an e mail and let me know so we know who all to look for.

The next group will be leaving Thursday afternoon.  It will leave from the parking lot at the Pyramid.  It will be traveling south on 75 to 412 east to 28 north into Eureka Springs.  For departure times please call Jim Culver.

The third group will be leaving on Friday.  It will leave from the Pyramid parking lot taking the 412 route.  For more information including departure time, please call Tom Culver.

If you plan to go over at a different time than any of these and don’t mind having others travel with you please let me know of your plans and I will pass them on.

Well I am truly sorry for those who didn’t get to make it to the picnic.  I would rate it right up there with the best ones that we have had.  We missed you all.

If we don’t see you before, we will see you all in Eureka Springs.

The “Cops and Rodders” Car show is this Saturday, October 1st.  It is held at the Sheriff’s Department on Adams Blvd.  I plan to go as I have volunteered along with several other “Oldies N Goodies” club members to judge the show.  I understand there were around 200 cars there last year so it should be a good show.  Hope to see you there.

2016 August Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

Well I know it has only been a week and I really hate to mess up my reputation but I was thinking of the meeting so decided to go ahead and get these out!

We met at Zeo’s Italian Restaurant in Tulsa this month.  They had a room that we had all to ourselves so was able to have a short meeting.  The food was very good and service was pretty good too.

2016 July Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

For the month of July Jim set us up to have our meeting and dinner at Clicks Steak House in Pawnee.  It is no place to try to hold a meeting but the food is well worth the trip.  We had a meeting and dinner there once before but I had forgotten how good it was!  If it weren’t so far, I would be a regular.  The service was as good as the food!  Mmmmm, I’m ready to go back!

We truly did not attempt to hold a meeting but Darrell did supply an agenda and I will give the information I have in accordance with it.

2016 June Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

We met at the Los Cobos Mexican restaurant in Jenks for the meeting in June.  As with all the Los Cobos restaurants the food was good and the service was even better.  It was a long trip for a meeting destination and the area of the restaurant gave us didn’t look like we were going to be able to have much of a meeting but to our surprise by the time we got done with our meal all the other patrons had finished their meals and had left, so, was able to get a meeting in after all.  After all the concern we didn’t have much for a meeting to discuss any way.

·         Darrell opened the meeting at 7:48

·         We had 23 members present.

·         Ed Lomax had his grandson, Zak Sitten (sorry Zac, I know I probably miss spelled your name) as our only guest.

·         Tonya left word with me that we have $788.09 in the bank.

·         Darrell is working on updating the “new” directory and member roster to reflect active members.  And on that note:  If you haven’t gotten Darrell a picture of you or/and your spouse, please do so.  Otherwise, as he has shared he will be forced to use one of the candid photos we have from one of our events.  Some of the photos we have of the events are, well let’s say, entertaining!

·         The July meeting is scheduled for “Clicks” in Pawnee and the August meeting is scheduled for Waylyns Koo Koo in Miami.  More information on departure locations and times, upcoming.

·         Corvette show in Rogers, Ark. In August.

·         Meeting adjourned at 7:59

2016 May Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

For our May Meeting, we went to Bucks BBQ in Sedan.  It had been way too long for a fix of Bucks for Rhonda and me.  We had started up there a couple of times since our last Club visit and something came up where we had to cancel out at the last minute each time.  Later we did make it up there to find that they recently had a death in the family and were closed.

As always the food was absolutely wonderful, service was excellent and is well worth the money!

Sorry Darrell, Bill still holds the record for shortest meeting.

2016 April Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

Dinner and a meeting at the Hammett House in Claremore.   As always the food was good, service very good, the pie was a mile high and the company, the best.  I counted 11 Corvettes that traveled together from Bartlesville and of course when we got there, some were already there.  During dinner I counted 29 present.  Another good showing.

Wow!!  Record I guess!  5 minutes.  I think everyone likes this type of meeting.  Keep the oil stirred in those Vettes.

2016 March Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

Well the weather was pretty iffy but 26 brave souls took a chance and showed up at the meeting held at the Spaghetti Warehouse this month.  It looked bad enough that yours truly decided to leave the red one setting in the garage.  As we normally did, we met everyone on Hwy 75 and road 2900.  However, since we were in the Nissan (yes I know) no one knew us when we pulled out behind the half dozen or so that braved the weather.  When everyone was getting out of the cars, all were asking, when did you guys get here and where did you park your car!?  We got a pretty good ribbing when it was known what we were in, especially as we right behind them.

The food was great, the service was good, and it didn’t rain all evening.  To our defense, we weren’t the only ones who didn’t drive our Vette, huh Tonya!

2016 February Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

This month we met at Luigis’.  They put us in the very back room so there was plenty of elbow room, it was quiet, the service was good and I didn’t hear anyone complaining about their food so all was well in the world.  Well except they kept opening the back door for grocery deliveries and freezing everyone to death.   We counted 45 present, for what may be a record.  Way to go Club!

2016 January Meeting Minutes

The following minutes were provided by Mike Nodine

The Caney Valley Corvette monthly meeting was held at Dinks Pit BBQ this month.  Darrell took over for Jordan as president.  He didn’t even come close to Jordan on meeting time but hey, it is hard to compete with a pro!  Didn’t hear anyone complain about the food and the girls did a really good job with the service.

I counted 27 people.  That is not a record by no means but a pretty good group.

Keep the oil stirred in those Vettes!
